As Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, prepare for their crucial fixtures, Patron of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Republic of Ireland, Mr. Alf Marshall Agyapong, has called on Ghanaians both at home and abroad to unite in support of the national team.
In a goodwill message issued to the Black Stars, Mr. Agyapong urged all citizens to rally behind the Black Stars, emphasizing that football remains a powerful symbol of national unity and collective pride.
“As our beloved Black Stars prepare for today’s important match, I extend my warm encouragement and best wishes to our players and call on all Ghanaians to stand united behind our national team,” he stated.
He made a special appeal to members of the NPP family in the Republic of Ireland, as well as Ghanaians across the diaspora, to remain connected in spirit and continue demonstrating their unwavering support for the national team.
“I particularly call on the NPP family in the Republic of Ireland and Ghanaians across the diaspora to join in spirit and continue showing love, belief, and unwavering support for Ghana.”
According to Mr. Agyapong, geographical distance should never diminish the patriotic bond shared by Ghanaians around the world.
“Distance may separate us physically, but our love for Ghana and our pride in the Black Stars remain one.”
He noted that football has the unique ability to unite people under a common national purpose, stressing that collective support can inspire the team to greater success.
Addressing the players directly, Mr. Agyapong encouraged them to approach the match with confidence, discipline, courage, and determination.
“Carry the hopes of the nation with confidence, discipline, courage, and determination.”
He also appealed to supporters to remain steadfast throughout the game.
“Let us encourage, let us believe, and let us stand together until the final whistle.”
Mr. Agyapong expressed hope that the day’s result would bring happiness to the nation while inspiring younger generations to continue believing in Ghana’s future.
