Mankrado of Ayidan Calls on Indigenes to Come Home for Homowo Festival 2026*

_Festival slated for 8th August in GA South Municipality_

*AYIDAN, GA SOUTH* — The *Mankrado of Ayidan* has called on all families, sons, daughters, and friends of Ayidan and beyond to return home and celebrate this year’s *Homowo Festival*.

In an announcement, the Mankrado said the festival, which marks the Ga tradition of harvest and remembrance, will be held on *Saturday, 8th August 2026* at *Ayidan in the GA South Municipal Assembly, Greater Accra Region*.

He urged all indigenes, residents, and well-wishers to come and experience the rich culture, tradition, and communal spirit that characterize the Homowo celebration.

“Homowo is a time to remember our ancestors, celebrate our harvest, and unite as one people. I invite everyone home to join in the festivities,” the Mankrado stated.

Homowo, celebrated by the Ga people, is an annual festival of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest and a time of remembrance for departed loved ones. The Mankrado noted that this year’s celebration in Ayidan will showcase traditional music, dance, and customary rites.
