Hon. Bishop T/Dr. Samuel David, also known as Samuel K. Denoon, Founder of Solution Center and Herbal Church and Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Amasaman Constituency in 2024, has called for the division of the Amasaman Constituency to make governance and election management more effective.
Speaking on the size of the constituency, Bishop Samuel noted that Amasaman currently has _over 300 polling stations_, a number he described as extremely large compared to constituencies such as Ketu and Akatsi.
“Handling that number during elections is extremely difficult,” he said, adding that his experience participating in past elections gives him first-hand knowledge of the challenges involved.
Because of this, he advised that _a division should be considered_. He cited the _Kotoku area_ as an example that could be carved out into a District or Municipality to bring governance and development closer to the people.
On his political future, Bishop Samuel stated that _he remains available if any political party offers him a ticket_ to contest.
In summary, the Bishop’s concern centers on effective representation and smoother election administration. He believes splitting Amasaman Constituency will help decentralize development and reduce pressure during elections.
